that have implemented new enterprise applications to support their business
strategy and business model.
1. (ONE) Ocean Network Express
The first example I looked at was ONE (Ocean Network Express) which is a global container shipping company. One was looking for an ERP system to help them manage their 8,000 employees, a global fleet of over 250 vessels, and a service network covering over 120 countries. They created a strategic business process management platform with SAP. This implementation saved them costs, improved efficiency, improved decision making and helped discover bottleneck processes. The implementation of SAP heled ONE improve their business strategy of delivery goods safely and on time.
2. Amazon
The second case I
looked at was Amazon and how Salesforce CRM helps them dominate the e-commerce
industry. Salesforce gathers information from the customers when the customer
sets up an account and tracks what the customer views and buys. It then uses
this information to tailor promotions and offers to the customer and gives them
a more personalised experience. It also gives the user a better experience by
having them just to login and all their details are there already saving the
customer time. Overall this CRM system improves efficiency and helps amazon
align more with their core business strategy which is to prioritises the
customer experience above all else.
3. Semler Group
The last case we will discuss is Semler Group which is the leading automotive company in Denmark. Semler Group consists of more than 2,700 employees and was finding it increasingly difficult to manage recruiting, onboarding, compensation, performance and goals, document management, and succession. To solve this issue, they implemented SAP to help with the hr lifecycle. Now the company had a database where they could clearly see each individuals’ strengths, weaknesses needs and what motivates them etc. As result of SAP the Semler Group can more efficiently train staff and improve employee performance and recruiting. This helps Semler Group support their business model and strategies as they can make more efficient and informed decisions on decisions relating to employees.`
